trailer during construction and a printed copy shall be provided to all contractors, <br />sub - contractors, and their employees before work begins. An encroachment <br />permit is required from the City of Pleasanton to cross the City property. <br />d) All construction traffic shall avoid noise - sensitive areas, including residences and <br />outdoor recreation areas, as much as possible. Major truck trips and deliveries <br />shall be scheduled during off peak travel times, to avoid peak travel congestion. <br />All street surfaces on the construction routes shall be monitored by the City <br />Engineer and the City Traffic Engineer so that any damage and debris attributable <br />to the haul trucks is identified and corrected at the expense of the project <br />applicant/developer. <br />e) Prior to construction, the construction traffic route, construction hours, and contact <br />names and telephone numbers shall be posted on the driveway entrances, <br />throughout the construction site, and in any construction trailer(s). <br />f) Comprehensive traffic control measures shall be implemented, including <br />scheduling of major truck trips and deliveries, to avoid peak travel hours. If <br />necessary, as determined by the City Traffic Engineer, proper lane closure <br />procedures such as flagger stations, signage, cones, and other warning devices <br />shall be implemented during construction. <br />g) Portable toilets used during construction shall be kept as far as possible from the <br />existing and /or the new residences as they are occupied and shall be emptied on a <br />regular basis as necessary to prevent odor. <br />h) Dust control best management practices, as approved by the City Engineer, shall <br />be followed at all times during grading and construction operations. Such <br />measures may include watering of exposed surfaces twice a day, and more <br />frequent watering when wind speeds exceed 15 mph; covering of stockpiled earth; <br />covering of trucks hauling dirt if windy conditions prevail. Failure to keep dust <br />under control may result in the stoppage of all work until a modified plan <br />acceptable to the City Engineer is approved and implemented. <br />i) Construction trailers shall be allowed to be placed on the project site for daily <br />administration /coordination purposes during the construction period. Shipping <br />containers may also be placed on the construction site to store materials and <br />equipment. <br />j) Except for security trailers staffed by licensed security personnel, at no time shall <br />campers, trailers, motor homes, or any other vehicle be used as living or sleeping <br />quarters on the construction site. All such vehicles shall be removed from the site <br />at the end of each workday. <br />k) Emergency vehicle access route(s), water supply, and fire hydrant installations <br />shall be provided and continuously made available as part of each phase to the <br />satisfaction of the Fire Marshall, Livermore - Pleasanton Fire Department. <br />Construction material storage and construction worker parking shall not obstruct <br />the emergency vehicle access route(s). <br />Page 6 <br />
