IN TNE ~ITY 00UNOIL 0~ TE~ CITY OF PLEA~ANTON, <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 2446 <br /> <br />DELETIN~ SECOND STREET Ah~D ADDING ~IRST STREET <br />TO T~tE S¥STE~I OF ~L~JOR CITY STREETS. <br /> <br /> ~.fHEREA~ the improvement of First Street contemplated <br />by the County of Alameda and the City of Pleasanton will tend to <br />create new traffic patterns in the City of Pleasanton; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of <br />Pleasanton does hereby resolve ~Ls follows: <br /> <br /> I. <br /> <br />That Second Street in the City of Pleasanton is <br />hereby deleted from the system of major city streets, previously <br /> <br />established by the <br />195 of the Streets <br /> <br />City Council pursuant to <br />and Highways Code of the <br />II. <br /> <br />Sections 194 and <br /> <br />State of California; <br /> <br /> ~at First Street, ~nd all portions thereof lyin~ <br />within the city limits is hereby' added to the system of major <br />streets of the City of Pleasanton; <br /> <br /> III. <br /> <br /> That the City Council hereby finds the necessity <br /> <br />for this change because the proposed improvement of First Street <br />will handle through traffic from the Sunol Read to the Liver.~ore- <br />Pleasanton Road; that the present zoning laws will encourage a <br />commercial development of the westerly side of First Street, <br />adding to the traffic thereon, ~nd that Second. Street will <br />continue to be predominantly residential; <br /> <br /> IV. <br /> <br /> That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to <br /> <br />submit to the District Engineer, Division of Highways, <br /> <br /> <br />
