IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE giT/ OF PLEASANTON, <br /> COUNTY OF AL~DA, STA~ OF CALIFORNIA. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2445 <br /> <br /> ~atEREAS the Pleasanton City Council recognizes that Panama <br />C~n~I tolls directly affect the shipping interests and shippers of this <br />co.~nunity; and <br /> <br /> WHEREA~ legislation has been introduced before the 83rd Congress <br />to the end that the shipping industry would bear a more equitable share of <br />the total cost of the operation of the Panama Canal, <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Pleasanton City Council <br />does hereby urge the members of the ~ $®riate and House of Representatives <br />from California to introduce in the 84th Congress legislation amending the <br />Canal Zone code in substantial confomnance with the amendments proposed <br />by H.R. 9681 of the 83rd Congress. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she hereby is, <br />directed to send copies of this resolution to members of the Senate and <br />House of Representatives from the State of California and to such other <br />persons as may be designated. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED at a regular adjourned meetin~ of the City Council of <br />the City of Pleasanton held on the 4th day of April, 1955, by the follow- <br />ing vote: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Hansen, Hector and Trlmingham <br /> <br /> NOES: None <br /> <br /> ABSENT: Councilmen Abrott and Cairo <br /> <br /> ~ff~yor of the City <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />City Cl~/k of the Ciky of Pleasanton <br /> <br /> <br />
