FM3 previously worked with
the City in 2007, when our firm conducted a satisfaction as well as a revenue measure
exploratory survey. FM3 will build on this library of research to provide tie City with an
updated survey that measures Pleasanton residents' satisfaction with city services and opinions
on current issues, and serves as a baseline instrument for future research. This proposal outlines
the purpose of the current study, details proposed survey methodology and questionnaire design,
and explains deliverables, a project timeline and costs.
Resident Satisfaction Survey: In 2007, FM3 conducted two surveys on behalf of the City of
Pleasanton among voters likely to cast a ballot in the November 2008 election. The first survey
assessed views about the quality of life in Pleasanton, satisfaction with city services, and
preferences for the use of the Bernal Property. The second survey assessed support for a
proposed local ballot measure to fund park maintenance and improvements. FM3 understands
that the purpose of the current study is to:
• track questions from the first 2007 survey about quality of life in Pleasanton and
satisfaction with city services; and
• update the survey to include a broader set of questions about living in Pleasanton and
satisfaction with services that the City can track over time.
Sample Methodology and Sample Size: Based on these goals, FM3 recommends conducting a
20- to 25-minute survey of approximately 600 Pleasanton registered voters, rather than likely
2425 Colorado Avenue.
