BACKGROUND
The Annual Curb and Gutter Replacement project consisted of removing and replacing
1,128 SF of damaged concrete valley gutter, 2,542 SF of sidewalk that presented
potential tripping hazards, 411 LF of curb and gutter that had cracbs and drainage
problems, and installing 8 new intersection ramps for ADA accessibility. The project also
included improvements near Stoneridge Drive at Guzman Dr ve, and ADA
improvements near the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center parking lot.
On March 19, 2013, Pleasanton's City Council awarded the contract to the lowest
responsible bidder, Nor-Cal Concrete, Inc., in the amount of $152,021. Council
authorized the Director of Community Development to approve change orders up to the
project contingency amount of $22,800. The project has since been completed and is
ready for acceptance.
Budget
Funding for the project was provided in the Annual Curb and Gutter Replacement
Project, CIP 125009. Change orders totaling $6,045.62 were due to an additional ramp
installed at Vineyard Avenue at Adams Way, an increase in asphalt quantity at
Stoneridge Drive, and credit for asphalt paving at Stoneridge Drive. The Operations
Services Department requested ADA improvements at the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic
Center parking lot. The cost for the parking lot work ($5,200) was paid from the
Facilities Renovation fund 043900-4385. A summary of the project's funding sources
and expenditures is presented in Attachment 1.
A two-year extended warranty for the valley gutter at Christina Court has been
negotiated due to rain conditions during the pouring of this section.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approve by:6tiren/
rti+Brian Dolan Emily Wagner Nelson Fialho
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Community Development
Attachments:
1.
