BACKGROUND <br /> Over the past number of years the City has utilized contract custodial services for <br /> various City facilities including the Pleasanton Police Department, City administration <br /> buildings at Civic Center, Fire House Arts Center, Pleasanton Senior, etc. To assure <br /> competitive pricing, staff regularly conducts a competitive bidding process with qualified <br /> custodial firms. The City's evaluation includes the firms experience, pricing, references <br /> and quality of the services proposed. <br /> The recommended services will include daily cleaning services such as dusting, spot <br /> cleaning carpets, trash disposal, restroom cleaning and vacuuming. Monthly services <br /> include high dusting, cleaning exterior light fixtures, vacuuming chairs, etc. Services are <br /> also required to use janitorial equipment that maximizes the effective reduction of <br /> building contaminants and minimal environmental impact. <br /> Based on a review of all bids received, staff is recommending awarding an Agreement <br /> for Contract Goods/Services be awarded to Nova Commercial Co., Inc. The cost of the <br /> agreement is $185,000 annually.
