CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 03-091 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADDING AGENDA ITEM REGARDING FUNDING FOR <br />ADOPT-A-UNIT EVENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton has been requested to contribute $1,600 to pay expenses for <br />four representatives from Pleasanton's adopted unit 526 FSB of the 101st Airborne <br />to attend the Tri-Valley Welcome Home celebration on August 16, 2003 in <br />Livermore; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />consideration of such an action was not set forth on the City Council agenda for <br />August 5, because the request was not received until after the agenda was posted; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Brown Act permits the Council to add an item to the agenda upon a two-thirds <br />vote of the Council that the item arose after the time the agenda was posted and <br />that action is necessary before the next regular Council meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a decision on whether to allocate the funds is necessary at this time because the <br /> Council will not meet again before the scheduled event. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Based on the findings set forth above, an agenda item to consider allocation of <br />$1,600 to provide for airfare, food, lodging and other expenses for the <br />representatives of Pleasanton's adopted trait to attend the Welcome Home event is <br />hereby added to the August 5, 2003 agenda for Council consideration and action, <br />if warranted. <br /> <br /> <br />
