Chapter 6.24 MASSAGE Page 4 of 14 <br /> conduct provided in Section 6.24.110(B)of this chapter, and the person's fingerprints were submitted to the <br /> California Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation. <br /> 2. A person may be issued no more than two special event permits per calendar year. <br /> C. Student Clinic. <br /> 1. The permit requirements of this chapter shall not apply to any student who is enrolled in a course in <br /> a school of massage located in the city of Pleasanton and is engaged in a student clinic, if the following <br /> requirements are met: <br /> a. The student has successfully completed at a school of massage a minimum of the following <br /> curriculum,which shall be non-repetitive: <br /> i. Twenty hours of ethics; and <br /> ii. Twenty hours of anatomy and physiology; and <br /> iii. Twenty hours of any massage modality; and <br /> iv. Forty hours of Swedish massage or 40 hours of Shiatsu massage. <br /> Credit from a course not requiring actual attendance in class may not be used to satisfy the education <br /> requirements. <br /> b. During a student clinic no student shall provide massage unless under the direct supervision of an <br /> instructor. <br /> c. At least one month prior to the student clinic, the school of massage has submitted to the police <br /> chief a schedule of the times and dates of the clinics. <br /> d. The student clinic must be held in a room with multiple massage stations. <br /> e. During the student clinic persons receiving massage must be draped or fully clothed. <br /> 2. A school of massage may charge the person receiving a massage at a student clinic a fee for the <br /> massage. (Ord. 1993 § 1, 2009; Ord. 1970 § 1, 2008) <br /> 6.24.045 Applicability of chapter to exempt massage businesses, practitioners, and therapists. <br /> A. Every massage establishment or business, as defined in Section 4612(b)(1)of the Business and <br /> Professions Code shall: <br /> 1. Two weeks prior to providing massage, provide the police chief the following: a copy of the <br /> certificate issued pursuant to Chapter 10.5 of the Business and Professions Code;the full name under which the <br /> business will be conducted, present or proposed address where the business will be conducted, certificate <br /> holder's full name, including all other names used presently or in the past, date of birth, present residence <br /> address and telephone number, and whether the certificate holder intends to engage in offsite massage. The <br /> massage establishment or business shall notify the police chief of any change in the information at least two <br /> weeks prior to the proposed change. <br /> 2. Display, in compliance with Section 6.24.160 of this chapter, a copy of the certificate issued <br /> pursuant to Chapter 10.5 of the Business and Professions Code for each person who is providing massage at the <br /> business. <br /> 3. Provide massage in compliance with Section 6.24.180 of this chapter. <br /> 4. Provide massage in compliance with Section 6.24.190 of this chapter. <br /> B. Every massage practitioner,as defined in Section 4600(c)of the Business and Professions Code, <br /> and massage therapist, as defined in Section 4600(d)of the Business and Professions Code, shall: <br /> 1.
