To receive incentive pay the employee must submit a copy of his/her college degree and <br /> college transcripts showing his/her overall grade point average. Incentive pay shall be <br /> effective at the beginning of the next pay period following approval of eligibility. <br /> All employees receiving educational incentive pay on April 30, 1992, shall continue to <br /> receive educational incentive pay. Any employee as of April 30, 1992, who obtained an <br /> eligible degree prior to being employed by the City of Pleasanton shall, upon reaching <br /> step E of his/her classification's salary range, receive the appropriate incentive pay <br /> percentage as cited above for said degree. <br /> 20.2 Tuition Reimbursement <br /> Regular full time employees and as specified below regular part time employees shall be <br /> eligible for reimbursement of tuition expenses for college or university courses <br /> successfully completed with a grade of "C" or better, provided said courses have been <br /> approved in advance by the employee's Department Head and the designated Assistant <br /> City Manager and are taken from an educational institution accredited by the Western <br /> Union of Schools and Colleges. <br /> Tuition shall be reimbursed in an amount up to, but not to exceed the registration fees per <br /> college quarter levied by California State University East Bay for internal degrees in <br /> effect at the time the employee enrolled in the course(s) for which tuition reimbursement <br /> is requested. <br /> Eligible fees shall be limited to: <br /> University Fee Facility Fee <br /> Student Body Fee University Union Fee <br /> IRA Fee Health Services Fee <br /> Regular part-time employees who average between thirty (30) and thirty-nine (39) hours <br /> per week shall be reimbursed in an amount equal to seventy five percent (75%) of the <br /> above fees. Regular part-time employees who average between twenty (20) and twenty- <br /> nine (29) hours per week shall be reimbursed fifty percent(50%) of the above fees. <br /> Requests for tuition reimbursement shall be submitted at the completion of each quarter <br /> or semester and be accompanied by an official receipt verifying the tuition amount and <br /> the tuition payment, and an official transcript of grades. <br /> 20.3 Book Reimbursement <br /> Regular employees can be reimbursed for books required for college/university courses <br /> approved by the department head and personnel director and successfully completed with <br /> a grade of "C" or better. Upon reimbursement, the books shall become the property of <br /> the city. To the extent feasible, the books will be made accessible to employees.
