Fifteenth 10.500 <br /> Sixteenth 11.000 <br /> Seventeenth 11.500 <br /> Eighteenth 12.000 <br /> Nineteenth and above 12.500 <br /> 12.4 Vacation Cap <br /> A. Vacation Cap <br /> The vacation cap is established at four hundred (400) hours. Thereafter, at any time an <br /> employee reaches four hundred (400) hours, the employee will cease accruing vacation <br /> until such time as the balance falls below the cap. No employee will be allowed to accrue <br /> vacation hours above the cap. <br /> In the event an employee has requested to take vacation but been denied or there were <br /> other circumstances that prevented the employee from taking vacation, the employee may <br /> submit a written request to the City Manager, or designated Assistant City Manager, for <br /> special consideration. <br /> 12.5 Vacation Bank <br /> Effective July 1, 2011, accrued vacation in excess of four hundred (400) hours was <br /> placed in a separate Vacation Bank for each affected employee. Employees shall be <br /> entitled to use or sell the hours in the Bank for vacation or for extended leave in the same <br /> manner as regular vacation hours. The hours shall be paid out at the pay rate of the <br /> employee when utilized. No additional hours will be added to this separate account. <br /> 12.6 Vacation Sell Back <br /> Employees may request to sell back up to one hundred twenty (120) hours of accrued <br /> vacation in each calendar year. Employees may sell accrued time in one (1) hour <br /> increments with a minimum of eight(8) hours on the first pay day in June and December <br /> of each year. <br /> 12.7 Vacation Schedule <br /> The times during a calendar year at which an employee may take his/her vacation shall be <br /> determined by the Department Head or his/her designee with due regard for the wishes of <br /> the employee and particular regard for the needs of the service. Vacations may not be <br /> taken, however, in connection with an employee leaving City employment. <br /> If the requirements of the service are such that an employee can not take part or all of <br /> his/her annual vacation in a particular calendar year, such vacation shall be taken during <br /> the following calendar year. <br /> _18 _ <br />
