Karen Gonzales SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL
Provided to the City Council
From: Joanne Hall
ent: Monday, April 01, 2013 11:09 AM After Distribution of Packet
ro: Randi Dalton; Mayor and City Council _ _ j
Cc: Maria Hoey; Pleasanton City Cle to ` -
Subject: RE:
Dear Ms. Dalton,
Thank you very much for your valuable input regarding Item l0 on the upcoming City Council agenda. This message
acknowledges receipt of your email. Please rest assured that the City Council will have the benefit of your comments.
Kind Regards,
Joanne Hall
Public Information Officer
City of Pleasanton
Original Message
From: Randi Dalton [
Sent: Monday, April 01, 2013 11:06 AM
To: Mayor and City Council
Cc:
Subject:
For Our Mayor and City Council:
My family and I have lived in Pleasanton for the past nine years. One of our daughters was a proud Foothill graduate in
2010 and is now attending the University of Oregon. The other will graduate this year and go on to college in the fall.
Living in this city has been good for us.
Pleasanton offers a great combination of opportunity within the city along with the feelings of safeness and closeness
within our community. I feel strongly about maintaining this balance and therefore, strongly object to destroying our
hills, losing much of the beauty of our city, creating more traffic, etc..
I was under the impression that the majority of our residents and voters agreed with my feelings, as Measure PP was
passed. The city chose to save our hills and we voted for a way to ensure that this would happen. I do not comprehend
how this can still be open for discussion or how the discussion is regarding the definitions of streets/roads and
structures.
The definition of street is very clear. A street/road is an artificial monument (as supported by the Kaplan book on
California Real Estate Principles). And, an artificial monument includes structures erected by man. Therefore, a street is a
structure. It all is quite straightforward even though the minutiae of the definitions is not even relevant. The intent of
Measure PP was very clear and it is still what the voters want.
Please support the voters of our city.
,espectfully,
Randi Dalton

1
