Box 520
Pleasanton, CA 94566-0802
www.pleasantonrecycles.org
From: Anne Fox [
Sent: Tuesday, April 16, 2013 4:18 PM
To: Mayor and City Council; Karla Brown; Jerry Thorne; Jerry Pentin; Cheryl Cook-Kallio
Cc: Anne Fox
Subject: Seismic Hazard/Fault Map of Spotorno and Lund Ranch II
Dear Mayor and City Council,
Before tonight's meeting, I would like you to have an opportunity to look at these California State maps online. It will lead
to greater understanding of the earthquake induced landslides and active fault zones in relation to the prohibition of
grading on 25% slopes or more and the proposed roadways in question.
http://gmw.consrv.ca.gov/shmp/download/quad/LIVERMORE/maps/LIVERMORE.PDF
This is a potentially active fault zone map that in the lower left hand corner shows an active fault zone. If you zoom into
that portion of the map, the portion at the top of the fault zone is the portion that would be the beginning of the Happy
Valley Bypass Road. The top of the area is in the proximity of Sycamore and Alisal. If you zoom in, you can read the
street names. This fault zone is on the western side in what appears to correspond to the Spotorno property in the Happy
Valley Specific Plan.
Also, take a look at this map which shows Earthquake Induced Landsides.
http://gmw.consrv.ca.gov/shmp/download/quad/LIVERMORE/maps/ozn liv.pdf
If you zoom in the left bottom corner of this map, you will also see that the area that corresponds to the map I sent you
earlier of the Spotorno property is displayed to the right of Alisal. Most of the property is shaded "Earthquake Induced
Landslide." In addition, the approximate location of the terminus of Sunset Creek Lane entering into Lund Ranch II
property is also shaded "Earthquake Induced Landside"
Thanks
Anne Fox
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
