Anyone familiar with our
neighborhood can attest that there is far too much traffic on Junipero Street, especially during rush hour, and that traffic
around the park often creates unsafe conditions for children and families. I am very concerned that if Measures PP and
QQ are interpreted in such a way that a road is defined a structure, then traffic from the proposed Lund Ranch II
development will be funneled down to Mission Hills Park and Junipero Street.
The original development plan stated that roads would be connected to Sycamore Road (or Sycamore Creek Way), and
my understanding is that buyers purchasing the new homes in the Sycamore Creek neighborhood understood that
traffic from new developments would go through their neighborhood. The design of Sycamore_ Creek Way (double
yellow line in the middle, no street parking allowed) makes it obvious that the road was designed to accommodate more
traffic.Junipero Street was not designed to handle a high volume of traffic. To use Measures PP and QQ to overturn the
original development plan is grossly unfair to residents of our neighborhood and would create even more unsafe
conditions at Mission Hills Park, a park used by residents from all around Pleasanton.
As a Pleasanton resident and registered voter, I feel that it is very important for City Council members to make sure that
the original agreement, stating that Lund Ranch II traffic should NOT be directed towards Junipero Street, is upheld.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Susan Ko

1
