Are the proposed on-site recreation facilities and amenities acceptable? <br /> The Commission generally felt the on-site recreation facilities and amenities were <br /> acceptable. Two Commissioners suggested that a children's activity area be provided in the <br /> podium central open space area. <br /> E. Are the building designs, colors and materials, and heights acceptable? <br /> The Commission generally felt that the building designs, colors and materials, and heights <br /> were acceptable. One Commissioner requested that more of the "Pleasanton look" be <br /> incorporated into the building design, if possible. One Commissioner questioned whether <br /> the mustard color was appropriate. The Commission requested that large paint sample chips <br /> be provided when the project is brought back for its formal review. A Commissioner <br /> requested that good visual simulations be provided when the project is brought back for its <br /> formal review (e.g., a video showing the project as you drove by and then into the project). <br /> The applicant informed staff that a video simulation would be very expensive and instead <br /> has provided additional photo simulations of the project. In addition, the applicant will have <br /> a 3D computer model of the project available at the hearing and the applicant will be able to <br /> provide a 3D image of any area of the project desired by the Commission, including internal <br /> views. <br /> Work Session Public Comment <br /> One member of the public, James Paxson, General Manager of the Hacienda Owners <br /> Association, spoke in favor of the project. <br /> II. SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> Subject Property and Surrounding Area <br /> The approximately 60.9-acre California Center site is located at 4400-4460 Rosewood Drive, <br /> within Hacienda Business Park. The site fronts on Rosewood and Owens Drives (see Figures 1 <br /> and 2 on the following pages). The site was developed in 1987-88 for AT&T and currently <br /> contains six multi-story office buildings totaling approximately 966,531 sq. i3., an <br /> approximately 36,313 sq. ft. cafeteria building, an approximately 14,007 sq. ft. conference <br /> building, and related site improvements (surface parking spaces, ornamental vegetation, etc.). <br /> PUD-85-08-1D-4M Page - 3 - March 27, 2013 <br />
