ATTACHMENT 2
Petition to Install Residential Permit Parking on Walnut Drive
The C'ily.s l-raflic knstineering Division was contacted by a resident on Walnut Drive requesting that we
investigate the large number of non-residents parking on Walnut Drive. A parking study wa',conducted that
showed a large percentage of nun-resident parking was occumng on the southwest end of Walnut Drive on
weekdays. The study showed the ma_ionty of these non-residents are parked for longer than three hours
(with many parked most of the day 1.
The City's proposed solution is to create a residential permit parking zone. This restriction would be
Monday through Friday 9 ,AM to 6 PM. It is recommended the entire street be changed to residential permit
parking so the problem is not simply shifted further northeast on Walnut Drive. Residential icrmtt parking
signs would need to be installed approximately every 150 feet on new sign posts as shown on attached map.
The City would fund the signs'posts and necessary parking enforcement. Residents would be required to
obtain annual parking permits from the Pleasanton Police Department at a cost of$10 per permit teach
household is also allotted two guest passes at no cost). All vehicles not displaying a permit during restricted
days/times will he cited_ T'his plan would require a positive response from at least 67%of the residents
located on the map below to start this process. If the residents support this change it will be
presented to City Council for approval.
Please sign the attached petition. include your name.address and telephone number.and indicate
whether you support(yes)or oppose gaol residential permit parking on Walnut t)riL c.
•V
7 r1. o I
y 1
7 7
-
.
-Y M "b SF., r rF -•
h ' ` L
'i t!/ l"
l':), 1y 1.1 - .2'
—f- < / Cl` ' t;
■
-- -
{„lI >Y LIr IfvARU AL
For questions contact dark Candland in the Traffic Engineering Division:
Phone 925.931.5669 Email mcandlantl(a cityofpleasantonca.gov
