ORDINANCE NO. 2061 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING VARIOUS CHAPTERS OF TITLE 18 OF THE PLEASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE TO COMPLY WITH CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE <br /> SECTIONS 65583 AND 65585.5 AND WITH THE 2012 PLEASANTON <br /> GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT PERTAINING TO EMERGENCY <br /> HOMELESS SHELTERS, SUPPORTIVE HOUSING AND TRANSITIONAL <br /> HOUSING, AS FILED UNDER CASE P12-1786 <br /> WHEREAS, there is an identified need for shelter and supportive housing for <br /> homeless and low-income individuals and families in Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, California Senate Bill 2 was enacted in 2007 to address statewide <br /> homelessness by mandating that local jurisdictions provide for arid facilitate the <br /> development of emergency homeless shelters, supportive housing and transitional <br /> housing in their zoning regulations; and <br /> WHEREAS, Programs 46.1 and 46.2 of the 2012 Pleasanton Housing Element <br /> calls for amendment of the zoning regulations to comply with the provisions of Senate <br /> Bill 2; and <br /> WHEREAS, a Supplemental Environmental Impact Report prepared for the 2012 <br /> Pleasanton Housing Element was certified by the City Council on January 4, 2012, and <br /> the proposed code amendment, being consistent with the 2012 Pleasanton Housing <br /> Element, requires no additional environmental review; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 23, 2013, the Planning Commission <br /> recommended that the City Council amend Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to <br /> accommodate emergency homeless shelters, supportive housing and transitional <br /> housing; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 19, 2013, the City Council reviewed the <br /> report of the Director of Community Development and the recommendations of the <br /> Planning Commission regarding amendment of Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal <br /> Code regarding emergency homeless shelters, supportive housing and transitional <br /> housing. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the proposed amendments to the <br /> Pleasanton Municipal Code are consistent with the Pleasanton General Plan. <br /> 1 <br />
