ORDINANCE NO. 2060 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING TITLE 18 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING <br /> CHAPTER 18.86 (REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION) AS FILED UNDER <br /> CASE P13-0005 <br /> WHEREAS, Program 41.10 of the 2012 Pleasanton Housing Element calls for <br /> the adoption of a reasonable accommodation ordinance to permit modifications of <br /> zoning provisions for housing intended to be occupied by persons with disabilities; and <br /> WHEREAS, a Supplemental Environmental Impact Report prepared for the 2012 <br /> Pleasanton Housing Element was certified by the City Council on January 4, 2012, and <br /> the proposed code amendment, being consistent with the 2012 Pleasanton Housing <br /> Element, requires no additional environmental review; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 23, 2013, the Planning Commission <br /> recommended that the City Council amend Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> by adding a new Chapter 18.86 (Reasonable Accommodation) to comply with fair <br /> housing laws regarding requests for reasonable accommodation; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 19, 2013, the City Council reviewed the <br /> report of the Director of Community Development regarding the amendment to Title 18 <br /> of the Pleasanton Municipal Code adding Chapter 18.86 (Reasonable Accommodation) <br /> and the recommendations of the Planning Commission. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the proposed amendments to the <br /> Pleasanton Municipal Code are consistent with the Pleasanton General Plan. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 18.86 (Reasonable Accommodation) pertaining to requests <br /> for reasonable accommodation is added to Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> and is to read as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this <br /> reference. <br /> SECTION 3. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen <br /> (15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation <br /> published in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for <br /> fifteen (15) days in the City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after the date of its <br /> final passage and adoption. <br /> 1 <br />
