5 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2062 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING VARIOUS CHAPTERS OF TITLE 18 OF THE PLEASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE TO COMPLY WITH CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY <br /> CODE SECTIONS 17021.5 AND 17021.6 AND WITH THE 2012 PLEASANTON <br /> GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT PERTAINING TO HOUSING FOR <br /> AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYEES, AS FILED UNDER CASE P12-1785 <br /> WHEREAS, there is an identified need for housing for agricultural employees in <br /> Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, the California Employee Housing Act including Sections 17021.5 <br /> and 17021.6 of the Health and Safety Code, provides for local regulation of employee <br /> housing; and <br /> WHEREAS, Program 49.1 of the 2012 Pleasanton Housing Element calls for <br /> amendment of the zoning regulations to comply with the provisions Sections 17021.5 <br /> and 17021.6 of the California Health and Safety Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, a Supplemental Environmental Impact Report prepared for the 2012 <br /> Pleasanton Housing Element was certified by the City Council on January 4, 2012, and <br /> the proposed code amendment, being consistent with the 2012 Pleasanton Housing <br /> Element, requires no additional environmental review; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 13, 2013, the Planning Commission <br /> recommended that the City Council amend Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to <br /> comply with State law and to implement the Housing Element; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of March 5, 2013, the City Council reviewed the report <br /> of the Director of Community Development and recommendations of the Planning <br /> Commission regarding amendment of Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> regarding employee housing. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the proposed amendments to the <br /> Pleasanton Municipal Code are consistent with the Pleasanton General Plan. <br /> SECTION 2. The amendment of Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> addressing employee housing is to read as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and <br /> incorporated herein by this reference. <br /> SECTION 3. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen <br /> (15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation <br /> 1 <br />
