<br /> on a full day Re-thinking Waste educational tour. This 6 hour field trip educates students on the full waste-stream cycle
<br /> and in depth options for waste reduction,recycling,and re-use.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 12-28 Rancho Elementary School,Go Green,Livermore,East County,$1,499.69-Funds will be used
<br /> to continue and enhance the"Go Green"program designated to reduce waste and teach students and staff about the
<br /> importance of recycling and reducing the impact on landfills. Grant money will enable the school to add two permanent
<br /> outdoor recycling stations to the campus as well as four movable stations for large campus events.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 12-29 Emma C Smith Elementary School,Go Green,Livermore,East County,$2,925.00—Funds
<br /> will be used to purchase dedicated recycling and trash containers to create recycling/trash collection stations that will help
<br /> support the waste reduction and recycling programs at Emma C. Smith Elementary.

<br /> grant will be used to purchase barrels and linkable dollies to facilitate the collection of recycling materials from
<br /> classrooms and move them to the Waste Management receptacles at the back corner of the school. Oakland Tech has a
<br /> recycling program in process,this will help to transport the recyclables and increase their recycling efforts.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 12-31 Berkeley High School,The Compost Project,Berkeley,West County,$390.00-Funds from
<br /> this grant will be used to purchase 15 compost bins to start a compost program within the school's classrooms.

<br /> Composting Project,Livermore,East County,$3,000.00-Funds from this grant will be used to enhance the Aerated
<br /> Static Pile(ASP)Compost system to make it less labor intensive and more efficient. Funds will alsc be used to start a
<br /> simple vermin-composting system capable of accepting compost from the ASP system and or uncomposted kitchen food
<br /> scraps directly from the Open Heart Kitchen Operations at Fertile GroundWorks/Asbury Methodist Church and other
<br /> operations.

<br /> from this grant will be used to purchase a storage shed to store recyclables,supplies and sorted materials for reuse.

<br /> County,$2,975.00-Funds from this grant will be used to purchase clear color coded visual signs for all recycling bins
<br /> and trash cans,a new cart for the custodian to move materials from one location on campus to another,and recycling bins
<br /> needed to ensure recycling is available in all areas of the campus.

<br /> Funds from this grant will be used to increase the students greening knowledge and recycling practices. Students will be
<br /> trained in school wide and cafeteria recycling,staff will be trained,and items will be purchased to improve and enhance
<br /> the schools recycling efforts.

<br /> cafeteria food waste reduction program.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 12-37 St.Martin de Porres School,St.Martin de Porres Schools Recycling Program,Oakland,West
<br /> County,$3,000.00-Funds from this grant will be used to begin a viable,sustainable recycling program beginning at the
<br /> elementary school campus and expanding to the middle school campus,resources permitting. The program has two goals:
<br /> 1.To establish a recycling,reusing,and composting program for the school and recycle,and reuse waste more
<br /> responsibly;2.In partnership with East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse implement curriculum and projects that teach the
<br /> 200+students about recycling,reusing and composting.
