RESOLUTION NO. 12-575 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON APPROVING THE USE OF MEASURE B BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FUNDING FOR PAVING OF SEGMENTS OF THE ARROYO MOCHO TRAIL AND THE RELOCATION OF THE VALLEY AVENUE BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN TRAIL WHEREAS, the voters of Alameda County, pursuant to the provisions of the Local Transportation Authority and Improvement Act, California Public Utilities Code Section 180000 et seq., approved the reauthorization of Measure B at the General Election held on November 7, 2000; and WHEREAS, The Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority was created to administer the proceeds from the one-half cent transaction and use tax and tie duration of the tax will be 20 years from the initial year of the collection that began April 1, 2002, with said tax to terminate/expire on March 31, 2022; and WHEREAS, The Alameda County Transportation Commission has replaced the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority in the oversight of the Measure B funding, and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton receives Measure B pass through funding from Alameda County Transportation Council to be used for Bicycle and Pedestrian Projects; and WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Council requires the expenditure of funds to be approved by a public process; and WHEREAS, at a public hearing on November 27, 2012, staff presented a report regarding the recommended uses for Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian funding. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. The use of Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian funds for the Arroyo Mocho Trail Test Paving Sections west of Santa Rita Road, the Arroyo Mocho Trail Paving east of Santa Rita Road, and Relocation of the Valley Avenue Bicycle & Pedestrian Trail is hereby approved and authorized. SECTION 2. A copy of this resolution will be transmitted to the Alameda County Transportation Commission. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
