CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEA§ANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1885 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18.106, "SECOND <br />UNITS," AND RELATED SECTIONS OF THE PLEASANTON <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, AS FILED UNDER CASE PRZ-17 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting on May 14, 2003, the Planning Commission recommended that the <br />City Council amend Chapter 18.106, "Second Units," and related sections of the <br />Pleasanton Municipal Code regarding the approval process for second units; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting on June 4, 2003, the City Council reviewed the report of the City <br />Attorney and the Director of Planning and Community Development (SR 03:149) <br />regarding amendments to Chapter 18.106, "Second Units," and related sections of <br />the Pleasanton Municipal Code and the recommendation of the Planning <br />Commission; <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council makes the following findings: <br /> <br />AD <br /> <br />Adopting this ordinance to amend the Municipal Code regarding second <br />units is consistent with State policies and legislation, including considering <br />second units as density neutral, increasing in-fill development to address <br />the statewide housing shortage, and ministerially approving second unit <br />uses in residential districts. <br /> <br />Adopting this ordinance to amend the Municipal Code regarding second <br />units furthers Policy 10 of the City's Housing Element, which calls for the <br />City to promote the creation of second units. <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />The off-street parking requirements for second units should be consistent <br />with off-street parking requirements for all residential uses in the City of <br />Pleasanton, which prohibit tandem parking and parking in the front or street <br />side yard. <br /> <br />Do <br /> <br />Adopting this ordinance to amend the Municipal Code regarding second <br />units is statutorily exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act <br />pursuant to Section 21080.17 of the California Public Resources Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
