Staff along with the consultant, The Cultural Planning Group is recommending that the <br /> City Council approve the formation of a 14-member Committee comprised of the <br /> following members: <br /> • Two (2) Civic Arts Commissioners <br /> • One (1) Youth Commissioner <br /> • One (1) Library Commissioner <br /> • One (1) Economic Vitality Committee Member <br /> • One (1) Amador Livermore Valley Historical Society (ALVHS) Board Member <br /> • One (1) Pleasanton Art League Board Member (PAL) <br /> • One (1) Pleasanton Unified School District Art Teacher <br /> • One (1) Pleasanton Downtown Association Representative (PDA) <br /> • One (1) Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council Board Member (PCAC) <br /> • One (1) Former Poet Laureate <br /> • Three (3) Community-at-Large Representatives (2-Adult, 1-Teen) <br /> The Civic Arts Commission, Library Commission and Youth Commission <br /> representatives will be selected from their respective memberships. The other advisory <br /> groups and/or organizations will each select a representative. Following completion of <br /> the above appointments, staff will forward the City Council the appointments for its <br /> ratification. <br /> Public Process Summary <br /> In addition to planned Committee activity and meetings, there will be significant <br /> opportunities for public input, including discussions with City advisory groups and <br /> stakeholders. Some of this process includes: <br /> • Executive Interviews: Face-to-face interviews with selected stakeholders such <br /> as key City personnel, community leaders, school district personnel, etc., to <br /> gain valuable perspective regarding needs, expectations and current <br /> conditions. <br /> • Online Community Opinion Survey: The purpose of the survey will be to assess <br /> the Pleasanton arts audience, profile their participation in arts and cultural <br /> activities and determine their cultural needs and preferences. <br /> • Two (2) Town Hall Meetings : The meetings are intended to be organized as <br /> follows: <br /> o Community Meeting #1: Present the Cultural Plan Update process and <br /> to allow for open community input on issues of vision, goals and <br /> priorities. <br /> o Community Meeting #2: To present the initial findings and <br /> recommendations. <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br />
