Mr. Stephen Kirkpatrick P.E.
The City of Pleasanton
October 17, 2012
Page 3
Task 3— Conduct Hydraulic Analysis:
Carollo will utilize the converted hydraulic model to analyze the hydraulic conditions in the EATS
and EARS systems. The analysis will determine the amount of flow that can be routed from the
EATS pipeline to the EARS pipeline, and if there are hydraulic constraints that limit the amount
of flow the EARS system can accept flow from EATS. The model will also be used to review the
implications of installing the EARS PS with a firm capacity of 2 mgd.
Carollo will evaluate impacts to existing equipment of the EALS and EARS collection system
infrastructure from the modified operation. Carollo will evaluate how the system will operate
during peak wet weather flow; including, an analysis to determine what volume/flows the EARS
system begins backing up and how wet weather(i.e. excess)flow can be diverted from the
EARS to the EATS.
The City has identified possible cross connections between the EATS and EARS collection
systems and the mini basins associated with the cross connections. Carollo will evaluate the
existing cross-connection points and determine if additional cross-connections are necessary.
Task 4—East Amador Pump Station Site Constraints:
Carollo will estimate the footprint of a 2 mgd pump station and support facilities. Carollo will also
review the available site size for the EARS PS and determine if the site size will constrain the
capacity of the pump station.
Task 5— Documentation Hydraulic Analysis Findings and Recommendations:
Carollo will attend one meeting with the City to discuss the model update, findings of the
hydraulic analysis and finding of the site constraints review. Carollo will also develop a technical
memorandum (TM) summarizing the findings and the recommendations. Carollc will submit an
electronic copy of the TM to the City for review prior to the meeting.
SCHEDULE
Consultant will complete the services within 60 days of the notice to proceed from the City.
PAYMENT
Payment to the Consultant for this work shall be on an hourly basis in accordance with the
attached fee schedule (Attachment A) and budget estimate (Attachment B)with a not to exceed
limit of$38,0000 without prior written agreement.
pw/Cardlo/Document9gienVCNPleasanton/-Proposals/EARS Pump StefionNODUEARS Scope Letter(B) carollo.com
