RESOLUTION NO. 12-571 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OIF PLEASANTON, REQUESTING THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PROPOSED REORGANIZATION NO. 153 (BALCH) PURSUANT TO THE CORTESE-KNOX-HERTZBERG LOCAL GOVERNMENT REORGANIZATION ACT OF 2000 WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to initiate proceedings purst,ant to the Cortese- Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000, Division 3, commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the reorganization of approximately 10.08 acres, Reorganization No. 153 (Balch), and requests initiation of proceedings thereon; and WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed/detached is uninhabited, and a description of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, this reorganization will consist of: annexation of territory to the City of Pleasanton and detachment from the Fire District, and Library District; and WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence of the affected city; and WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed reorganization are as follows: • This is a logical extension of the City limits and the City of Pleasanton should have control over the development of this property. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. The Local Agency Formation Commission of Alameda County is hereby requested to take proceedings for reorganization of territory as described in Exhibit "A", according to the terms and conditions stated above and in the manner provided by the Cortese-Knox- Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000. SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
