The territory is contiguous to the City of Pleasanton; can control the lay-out of streets, design of improvements and zoning of land; it contains the site of a new elementary school which will serve the City; and it will provide for the subdivision of said territory in an manner best suited for the growth and welfare of the City. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Alameda County, California, did on Feb~ua~ 9,th , 1956, approwe the above described and proposed boundaries of said territory, as amended. 4. That Tuesday , April 17th , 1956, et the hour of 8:00 PM, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Main Street, Pleasanton, California, is hereb~ fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Pleasanton, and having any objections thereto, may appear before the Co,~ucil and show cause why such annexation should not take place. Such protest must be filed in writing, and may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing ob- jections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the des- cription and area of such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to caus a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Pleasanton Times, a newspaper of general circulation published within the City, and also in the Livermore Herald, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City but within the County of Alameda, California, county in which said territory is located, both of said publicati( to be completed at least twenty for the hearing.
