IN THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PLEASANTON~ <br />FOR THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> Re s oluti on No..~ ~ / <br /> <br /> WHERF~, property within the City of Pleasanton has suffered <br />much damage and several near-disasters due to extraordinary waters <br />in the Arroyo del Valle during this 1955-1956 season; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Council does hereby request certain <br />work described below to be done with federal funds through the <br />United States Army, Department of Engineere, commonly known as the <br />Army Engineers. <br /> <br /> 2. That the Council does declare that said work is a <br />necessity, and must be done immediately, inasmuch as the possibil- <br />ity of further rains exits; and that the urgency of the situation <br />was explained in detail to said Army Engineers by James W. Trim- <br />ingham, Mayor, in a phone conversation on or about January 13, <br />1956. <br /> <br /> 3. That it is understood by this City Council that ~he <br />below described work will not cause any expense to the City of <br />Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> 4. That said work shall consist of clearing the channel <br />and debris from the Arroyo del Valle approximately 500 feet west <br />of the Southern Pacific Railroad trestle bridge across said <br /> <br />Arroyo. <br /> <br /> DATED THIS February <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br /> <br />
