~SSOLUTION NO. 2546 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CF PLEASANTON APPROVING CERTAIN ARRANOI~?,~hR~S WITH THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA IN CONNiSCTION I~ITH UNIFO~.~ SAi,ES AND USE TALES. Attest; Clty Cl~ of the City of Pleasanton WHEREAS, recent legislation enables cities and counties to provide for a uniform sales and use tax ~lereby the Board of Equalization of the State of california is the collectir~ agency for said taxes; and WHEREAS, under said system the County of Alameda and all cities in said county must adopt a uniform sales and use tax in order to take advantage of this arrangement; and WHEREAS, it appears this arrangement will eliminate many inequities in the present system and result in more efficient administration and collection of tax revenues; and ~REAS~ negotiations have been under way between the Board of Supervisors of ~lameda County and the ~ayors of all cities within said county concerning the sharing by the county in proceeds of city sales and use taxes; and %~{EREAS, the 5~ revenue from sales and use tax could probably result in lower property tax. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Pleasanton hereby approves and recommends an arrangement with the County of Alameda whereby said County will receive 5~ of the 1~ sales and use tax revenue of the cities. BE IT F~{THER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County. ADOPTED at a Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Pleasan- ton held ~pril ~7, 1956.
