2. That the City Council desires to annex said uninhabited <br />territory for the following reasons: <br /> <br /> The territory is contiguous to the City of <br /> Pleasanton; it is adjacent to an expanding <br /> subdivision, where the airy has approved the <br /> street pattern, design and dedicated improve- <br /> manta; the City wants to continue its control <br /> of the subdivision of this land to promote the <br /> orderly growth and general welfare of the C~ <br /> o~ Pleasant on. <br /> <br /> 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Alameda County, <br />California, did on May 2~, 1956, by Recommendation No. 451, <br />prove the above described and proposed boundaries of said terri- <br />tory, as corrected and copied above. <br /> <br /> ~. That Mop,day , ~uly 16 , 1956, at the <br /> <br />hour of 8:00 PM, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Main <br />Street, Pleasanton, California, is hereby fixed as the time and <br />place when and where any person owning real property within the <br />uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed <br />to the City of Pleasanton, and having any objections thereto, may <br />appear befere the Council and show cause why such annexation <br />should not take place. Such protest must be filed in writing, <br />and may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing ob- <br />jections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or <br />names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the des- <br />cription and area of such property, in general terms. <br /> <br /> 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to caus, <br />a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not <br />oftener than once a week, in the Pleasanton Times, a newspaper of <br />general circulation published within the City, and also in the <br />Livermore Herald, a newspaper of general circulation published <br />outside the City but within the County of Alameda, California, the <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
