2. That the City Council desires to annex said uninhabited territory for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Pleasanton; it is adjacent to an expanding subdivision, where the airy has approved the street pattern, design and dedicated improve- manta; the City wants to continue its control of the subdivision of this land to promote the orderly growth and general welfare of the C~ o~ Pleasant on. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Alameda County, California, did on May 2~, 1956, by Recommendation No. 451, prove the above described and proposed boundaries of said terri- tory, as corrected and copied above. ~. That Mop,day , ~uly 16 , 1956, at the hour of 8:00 PM, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Main Street, Pleasanton, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Pleasanton, and having any objections thereto, may appear befere the Council and show cause why such annexation should not take place. Such protest must be filed in writing, and may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing ob- jections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the des- cription and area of such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to caus, a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Pleasanton Times, a newspaper of general circulation published within the City, and also in the Livermore Herald, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City but within the County of Alameda, California, the -3-
