MINUTES 1
CITY OF PLEASANTON
REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
September 4, 2012
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember
McGovern lead the Pledge of Allegiance and she provided introductory remarks.
Mayor Hosterman reported that the community lost a very dear and valued member of the community
when Carl Pretzel passed prematurely and unexpectedly last week.
Councilmember Sullivan said Mr. Pretzel was a very good friend to himself and others who worked in
local politics. His passion as both an activist and member of City committees was to ensure that
citizens have a voice in local government. He and Mr. Pretzel met in 1996 when working to stop the
West Las Positas interchange and since that time, Mr. Pretzel assisted with the campaigns of those
who support the idea of self-government in Pleasanton. He was a good man who will be sorely missed.
ROLL CALL
Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman
Absent: None
AGENDA AMENDMENTS: None
CONSENT CALENDAR
Administrative Services
1.
