THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT I <br /> rLEASANTON, <br /> September 4, 2012 <br /> Administrative Services <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A RETIREE HEALTH SAVINGS PLAN <br /> IN THE FORM OF ICMA RETIREMENT CORPORATION'S VANTAGECARE <br /> RETIREMENT HEALTH SAVINGS PLAN <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Recently, the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Police Officers' Association <br /> negotiated an updated Memorandum of Understanding which included the <br /> establishment of a retirement health savings plan in conjunction with a reduced retiree <br /> medical program for employees hired after July 1, 2012. The ICMA Retirement <br /> Corporation's VantageCare Retirement Health Savings Plan was selected as the <br /> program and a resolution is required for implementation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt the resolution establishing a retiree health savings plan and designating the <br /> ICMA Retirement Corporation's VantageCare Retirement Health Savings Plan as the <br /> program selected. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no cost associated with establishing the ICMA-RC VantageCare Retirement <br /> Health Savings Plan. <br />
