THE CITY OF <br /> 5 <br /> — °I III mho ' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON. <br /> August 21, 2012 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY AJW <br /> CONSTRUCTION FOR THE ANNUAL SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE <br /> PROJECT, CIP NO. 105012 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Annual Sidewalk Maintenance project consisted of removing and replacing existing <br /> concrete sidewalk, intersection ramps, and curb and gutter. Work also included <br /> sidewalk replacement near Union Pacific Railroad crossings and accessibility to the <br /> Zone 7 pathway along West Las Positas Boulevard. Construction of the project is <br /> complete and ready for acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the project. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. <br /> 3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $13,445.69 to AJW <br /> Construction thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the transfer of the remaining funds in the amount of $222,119 to the <br /> Streets Capital Improvement Program (CIP) fund balance for future streets CIP <br /> projects, and close out the Annual Sidewalk Maintenance project, CIP No. 105012. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> This project is part of an annual ongoing program that will replace and upgrade existing <br /> infrastructure and will reduce maintenance costs. <br /> Funding for this project was provided in the Annual Sidewalk Maintenance Project, CIP <br /> No. 105012, which was authorized by City Council as part of the 2010-2011 Capital <br /> Improvement Program (CIP), and in the Bicycle and Pedestrian Related Improvements <br /> project, CIP No. 115043, which was authorized in the 2011-12 CIP budget. <br />
