IN T~{E CITY COU*YCIL OF THE CITY 97 PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ,%I~Q.~DA, STATE OF C~LIF0?iYIA [hESOLUTION # 2657 Relative to ;~rkments Condensation Ins- urance for Registered Volunteer "Disaster Service [~rkers" %~EREAS~ Section 1599.1 of the l~litary and Veterans Code, Chapter 104, Statutes 1946 First Extraordinary Session, provides: "The california 9rate Disaster Council shall establish by rule and regulation various classes of disaster service workers and the scope of the duties of each class. The California State Disaster Council shall also adept rules and regulations prescribing the mam~er in which disaster service workers of each class are to be registered. All such rules and regulations ~all be designed to facilitate the p~j~ing of workments compensation," and WHEilEAS, The California State Disaster Council on April 4, 1946, adopt- ed rules and regulations establishing classes of disaster service workers, the scope of duties of each class and the manner of registration of such vol- unteer workers; and W~EREAS, Section 1599.2 of the }~litary and Veter~us Code, Chapter 104 Statutes 1946 First I~xtraordinary Session provides; "Any disaster counc~.']. which both agrees to follow the rules and regulations established by the California State Disaster Council pursuant to the provisions of Section 1599.1 of this code and substantially complies with such males and regula- tions shall be certified by the California State Disaster Council. Upon making such certification, and not before, the disaster council becomes an accredited disaster council,"and ~%~EREAS, The City of Pleasanton has registered and will hereafter reg- ister volunteer Disaster Service lfo~ers; and ~,qiERE_~S, The City of Pleasanton desires to become an "Accredited Dis- aster Council" organization in order that injured disaster service workers registered with it may benefit by the provisions of the Labor Code: N~ THI]L~FOP~, The City Council of the City of Pleasanton hereby agrees to follow the rules and regulations established by the California State Dis- ast~r Cour~il under date of April 4, 1946 (as amended), pursuant to the pro- visions of Section 1599.1 of the 5iilitary and.
