IN THE GIT~ COUNCIL, CIT~ OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF AL qEDA, STATE OF CALII"ORN/A <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # 2647 <br /> <br />Resolution Offerir~ Assistance to the <br />City and County of San Francisco in its <br />Project to Obtain a ~jor League Base~ <br />ball Franchise <br /> <br /> %~EHEAS~ the City and County of San Francisco, under the leadership of <br /> <br /> its Honorable Mayor Christopher~ proposes to urge a ~jor League Baseball Franchise <br /> for ~an Francisco: and the support of such a pro,ram and a ~jor League team by the <br /> densely populated cities in Alameda County, California, should lend impetus towar~ <br /> the success of the project; now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> ~ESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Pleasanton strongly endorses <br />and supports the purpose of gan Francisco to obtain a ~jor League Baseball Fran~ <br />chise in said City and County, and directs the ~yor of the City of PleasantoR to <br />offer to ~k%yor Christopher full cooperation ~ such assistance as may be requested <br />to secure the success of said project, a~ for that purpose, should he be iuvited~ <br />to attend with ~yor Christopher~ the baseball franchise meeting to be held in <br />St. Louis on July 9th, 1957~ and be it <br /> <br /> FURTheR ]~ESOLVED: That a certified copy of this Resolution shall be fo~,ard.- <br />ed by the City Clerk to ~yor Christopher~ to the Alameda County ~oard of Super- <br />visors and to the ~yors of the East Bay Cities° <br /> <br />I certify that the ~ <br />IS ~, correct copy <br />passed by the City Council of the City of <br />Pl~nton, Alameda County, California, <br /> <br /> ~City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
