CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF pLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 990 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE ORDERING AN ELECTION TO BE HELD ON <br /> NOVEMBER 3, 1981 TO SUBMIT ORDINANCE NO. 973 <br /> (MEYER PROJECT) TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON <br />WHEREAS, on June 11, 1981, the City of Pleasanton received a <br /> petition to referend Ordinance No. 973; and <br />WHEREAS, the petition was forwarded to the Alameda County <br /> Registrar of Voters for verification of the signatures; <br /> and <br />WtlEREAS, on July 14, 1981, the City Council adopted Resolution <br /> No. 81-219 accepting the Certification of Referendum <br /> Petitions and continuing the decision of whether to <br /> call an election or repeal the ordinance to August 11, <br /> 1981; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council's action regarding referended ordinances <br /> is governed by Section 4055 of the Election Code. <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1: Council orders an election to be h~ld on November 3, <br /> 1981, to submit Ordinance No. 973 to the voters of the <br /> City of Pleasanton. The proposed ballot language shall <br /> be as shown on Exhibit "A." <br /> Section 2: The County Registrar of Voters is to be notified that <br /> the election is to be consolidated with the school district <br /> election to be held on that date. <br /> Section 3: Direct arguments for and against Ordinance No. 973 <br /> are to be submitted to the City Clerk by August 17, 1981 <br /> at 5:00 p.m. <br /> Section 4: Rebuttal arguments are to be submitted to the City <br /> 'Clerk by August 27, 1981 at 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Section 5: This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen <br /> '(15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a <br /> newspaper of general circulation published in the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> <br />
