THE CITY OF 15
Pft^, ° CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pLEASANTON®
July 17, 2012
Community Development
TITLE: APPROVAL OF JOINT USE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND
PG&E FOR THE RELOCATION OF ELECTRICAL TRANSMISSION
FACILITIES WITHIN THE VINEYARD AVENUE RIGHT OF WAY
SUMMARY
Greenbriar Homes seeks to relocate above-ground electrical transmission lines that
currently are located diagonally across its property at 798 Vineyard Terrace to Vineyard
Avenue. The Council has previously approved Tract 7240 and PUD-00-01 for this site.
Relocation, at Greenbriar's expense, will allow for improved residential development of
the vineyard estate lot. PG&E has agreed to perform the relocation upon the City
approving and executing the Joint Use Agreement between the parties, which includes
the City granting PG&E an easement within this portion of Vineyard Avenue. Greenbriar
has agreed to pay directly to PG&E the costs of relocation, as well as an additional
$30,000 to the City for Vineyard Avenue Corridor Specific Plan fees for landscaping on
the north side of Vineyard Avenue.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute on behalf of the City a Joint Use
Agreement between the City and PG&E for the relocation of electrical transmission
facilities from 798 Vineyard Terrace to a new easement within the Vineyard Avenue
right of way.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There is no anticipated current financial impact. Greenbriar Homes has agreed to pay
directly to PG&E the cost of the relocation, as well as $30,000 to the City as additional
Vineyard Avenue Corridor Specific Plan fees for landscaping on the north side of
Vineyard Avenue. The only potential financial impact is that if the City decides to modify
the alignment of Vineyard Corridor in the future, then the City would have to pay for any
relocation of the transmission lines in the area covered by this Joint Use Agreement and
easement proposed to be granted to PG&E.
