Housing Standards and Design Guidelines <br /> A3. Public Streets <br /> The design of the public frontage of each project will vary depending on location <br /> and character of the street. The below standards are minimums for all projects <br /> but projects should relate to adjacent conditions as appropriate. <br /> • <br /> . <br /> a <br /> 1.6'min 5' f 10'min f <br /> Development Standards: <br /> A3.1. Public streets shall have at minimum 6 feet plantings strip and 5 feet <br /> sidewalk on each side of the street. Planting strip can have an average <br /> minimum width of 6 feet to accommodate a meandering sidewalk where <br /> applicable. <br /> A3.2. Residential front setbacks shall be a minimum 10 feet from the back of <br /> sidewalk providing enough room for planting and privacy while still allowing a <br /> strong relationship between the units and the street. 15 feet is preferred to <br /> allow for a second row of trees. Retail buildings shall be set back at least 10 <br /> feet from back of curb. <br /> A3.3. Retail front setback shall be a minimum 15 feet from face of curb. <br /> A3.4. Low entry landscape walls, not to exceed 3 feet in height, may encroach up <br /> to back of sidewalk. <br /> A3.5. Public streets shall be designed to include planned improvements in the <br /> Pleasanton Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan <br /> A3.6. Street trees shall be planted at least every 25-35 feet on average <br /> depending on tree species, not to exceed 40 feet. <br /> A3.7.
