The MOU outlines the roles and responsibilities of each <br /> party regarding the project's site development and access; operation and maintenance; <br /> associated costs; and insurance requirements. Through the MOU, Open Heart Kitchen <br /> of Livermore, Inc., shall serve as the "Administrative Non-Profit" and will coordinate all <br /> activities associated with the operation and maintenance of the facility between the non- <br /> profit organizations and the City (Attachment 2). <br /> Additionally, the MOU acknowledges that the Regional Food Storage Project will be <br /> successful only upon cooperation and coordination between all of the organizations <br /> regarding the use of the food storage units and sharing of costs and maintenance <br /> responsibilities. To this purpose, the MOU requires that all of the non-profit <br /> organizations agree to prepare separate agreements that will be administered through <br /> Open Heart Kitchen, and address the following issues: <br /> • Times of operations <br /> • Access and rules <br /> • Space apportionment between organizations <br /> • Proper labeling and dating of food stored <br /> • Responsibility for Alameda County health department standards and cleaning <br /> • Liability insurance for each organization <br /> • Security process for access keys, site access, and unit keys <br /> • Temperature logs <br /> • Responsibility for site and equipment maintenance <br /> • Apportionment of utility and garbage service costs <br /> City Staff has met with the interested non-profit organizations to review the project, <br /> receive comments on the design and site location of the storage units, and provide input <br /> into the MOU. With full funding for the project now secured, staff is ready to order the <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br />
