EXHIBIT A Services to be provided Telephone Survey • Consultation on the survey instrument, followed by modifications as needed • Pretesting of the survey instrument, consultation on the results, and final adjustments as needed • Calculation of the appropriate sample size for the population of Pleasanton businesses given a + 5 percent margin of error at the 95 percent confidence level • Completion of approximately 350 telephone interviews averaging seven to eight minutes in length with business owners and managers • Coding of two open-ended questions per completed interview • Tabulation and analysis of the resulting data • Preparation of a detailed written report on the results, including an introduction, an in-depth statement of methods, verbal and graphic portrayals of the findings, and our conclusions and recommendations • Consultation with on the results as needed for an indefinite period of time at no additional charge Online Survey • Program the survey into software for online administration • Test and revise the programming as needed • Issue invitations to participate in the survey • Work with the City to manage any bounce-backs • Design and distribute one or two reminders if needed • Download and tabulate the data • Code up to two open-ended questions per complete questionnaire • Prepare a detailed written report on the results First Amendment to JD Franz Agreement#12-857 Page 3
