CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 972 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE CONTINUING THE MORATORIUM ON CONVERSION <br /> OF EXISTING MULTIPLE FAMILY RENTAL DWELLINGS TO <br /> CONDOMINIUMS ESTABLISHED BY ORDINANCE NO. 955 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted an emergency moratorium <br /> ordinance for four months, Ordinance No. 955, incorporated <br /> by reference herein; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, members of the City Council are considering a conversion <br /> regulation ordinance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, allowing the unregulated conversion of apartments to <br /> condominiums would be in conflict with the regulation <br /> ordinance being contemplated by the City Council; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ORDAINS <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. A moratorium is hereby extended on the acceptance and <br /> processing of applications for and on the approval of <br /> conversions of existing multiple family rental dwellings <br /> to condominiums, community apartments, or cooperative <br /> housing projects and subdivisions of mobile home parks. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br /> measure for the preservation of the public health, safety <br /> and welfare and is adopted pursuant to Section 65858 of <br /> the Government Code. This moratorium shall remain in <br /> effect while the City considers the possible adoption of <br /> a condominium conversion ordinance and shall terminate <br /> on December 23, 1981, or on the effective date of an <br /> ordinance repealing this interim ordinance or adopting <br /> condominium conversion regulations. <br /> <br />Section 3. This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen <br /> (15) days after its adoption in "The Times," a newspaper <br /> of general circulation, published and circulated in the <br /> City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED as an emergency ordinance at a regular meeting of the City Council on April 21, 1981.
