THE CITY OF 11 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONo <br /> April 17, 2012 <br /> Fire <br /> TITLE: CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE 2012 WEED <br /> ABATEMENT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE ABATEMENT OF <br /> WEEDS, RUBBISH, DIRT, OR REFUSE UPON OR IN FRONT OF <br /> CERTAIN DESCRIBED PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On March 20, 2012, as part of the 2012 Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD) <br /> Weed Abatement Program, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 12-510 declaring <br /> that weeds, dirt, rubbish and refuse on specified properties constituted a public <br /> nuisance, ordering the abatement thereof, and setting a public hearing to hear <br /> objections to the proposed abatement. The purpose of this public hearing is for the City <br /> Council to hear and consider objections, if any, and order that the weeds be abated by a <br /> contractor. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt the attached resolution approving the 2012 Weed Abatement Program and <br /> authorizing the abatement of weeds, rubbish, dirt, or refuse upon or in front of certain <br /> described properties within the City of Pleasanton. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Property owners are invoiced for all work performed in addition to a 100% administrative <br /> charge. Unpaid invoices become a special assessment on the property owner's tax bill. <br /> All costs involved with the Weed Abatement Program are budgeted under Account <br /> #122-181-3378. <br />
