RESOLUTION NO. 12-507 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br /> CHANGING THE NAME OF WASHINGTON MUTUAL WAY TO CLOROX WAY <br /> WHEREAS, California Government Code section 34091.1 provides that whenever city <br /> finds that the existing name of any street should be changed, that street name may be changed <br /> by adoption of a resolution of the City Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, California Government Code section 34092 requires that when the name of <br /> a street is changed, the City Clerk shall forward a copy of the resolution adopting that street <br /> name change to the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Clorox Company has requested the City of Pleasanton ("City") to <br /> consider renaming Washington Mutual Way to Clorox Way; and <br /> WHEREAS, Clorox Company will reimburse all costs for the purchase and installation of <br /> replacement signage; and <br /> WHEREAS, none of the businesses or properties that adjoin Washington Mutual Way <br /> have Washington Mutual Way addresses, and no direct impacts to the local businesses and <br /> properties were identified by staff; and <br /> WHEREAS, Washington Mutual Way is not on the City's Heritage Street Name list; and <br /> WHEREAS, local businesses and property owners received notices requesting <br /> comments on the proposed name change; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff did not receive comments from local businesses or property owners on <br /> the proposed name change. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves changing the name of Washington <br /> Mutual Way to Clorox Way. <br /> SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall promptly forward a certified copy of this resolution to <br /> the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County. <br /> SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on March 6, 2012. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 6TH day of March <br /> 2012, by the following vote: <br />
