2005 PLEASANTON PLAN 2025
Goals, Policies, and Programs
"To Do"
2. LAND USE ELEMENT
Program 1.2: When reviewing development projects (especially in areas where
there is likely to be the most change and the greatest impact can be
made), consider how the following will impact energy use: density,
neighborhood design, proximity to transit, proximity to
shopping/employment, walkability, street layout, and construction
techniques (Green Building). Develop new measures of sustainability
based on these factors and adopt minimum sustainability scores for
typical projects. [GP page 2-28]
Program 1.3: When reviewing development projects, review transportation
energy-efficiency measures alongside level-of-service standards.
Develop a methodology to accomplish this and then adopt it.
[GP page 2-28]
7. CONSERVATION AND OPEN SPACE ELEMENT
Program 1.2: Identify land within the Planning Area which could be reclaimed as
viable wildlife habitat. Study methods to re-establish viable plant and
animal communities in these areas. Develop standards to accomplish
habitat reclamation which: (1) specify the minimum acreage,
topography, flora, fauna, and other characteristics necessary to
ensure survival of wildlife habitat areas; (2) specify necessary length,
breadth, flora, fauna, and other characteristics necessary to ensure
the protection and use of wildlife corridors; and (3) prevent the
creation of open space islands, unless they are connected through a
series of viable wildlife corridors in accordance with specified
standards. [GP page 7-33]
*Implement Mitigation Standards identified in the East Alameda County
Conservation Strategy.
8. WATER ELEMENT
Program 11.2: Develop design guidelines and standard details to enable developers
to incorporate clean water runoff requirements into their projects.
[GP page 8-31]
To Do" Page 1 of 2
