IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 27~3 <br /> <br /> Authorizing City Administr~tor to Apply <br /> for Federal Funds for Sewage Treatment <br /> Plant Construction <br /> <br /> WHEREAS limited federal participating funds are available under Public <br />Law 660 to assist local communities in controlling water pollution by pro- <br />viding for adequate sewage treatment capacity, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is faced with the problem of providing <br />adequate sewage treatment capacity in order to avoid a threatened pollution <br />of both the existing underground supply and of Alameda Creek, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the underground water supply is necessary for a potable water <br />supply and Alameda Creek is used for fish and game propagation and for <br />recreation purposes, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has sufficient funds available or will <br />make aufficient local funds available for a portion of the necessary construc- <br />tion, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton must have some financial assistance in <br /> order to avoid the threatened pollution of the water supply of the area; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Administrator be and is here- <br /> by authorized and directed to prepare and execute an application for federal <br /> participating funds for the construction of a sewage treatment plant adequate <br /> to reduce the threatened water pollution. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of APril, 1958. <br /> <br />Mayor of the City of P~easanton <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Cfty Cle~ of the City of Pleasanton <br /> <br /> <br />
