CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 959 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL <br /> OF CERTAIN RAP APPROVED RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Residential Allocation Program (RAP) provides that <br /> development approval lapses one and one-half years <br /> from the date of approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, certain projects ~hich received RAP approval in past <br /> years would have their development approval lapse on <br /> May 28, 1981 or on July 22, 1981; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these projects have been proceeding toward actual <br /> construction by processing the necessary tentative <br /> maps, etc; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, actual construction has been delayed by the unfavorable <br /> building conditions (high interest rates and tight money <br /> market) encountered through 1980, the same conditions <br /> which are still present and are anticipated well into <br /> 1981; and I... <br /> <br />WHEREAS, actual construction is unlikely to begin before the <br /> lapse dates of development approvals due to the adverse <br /> building conditions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Pleasanton <br /> to enable the many desirable projects to be allowed to <br /> develop as soon as conditions warrant, rather than <br /> to force reapplication of the many projects for subse- <br /> quent development approval; <br /> <br />NOW, THFIREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY' OF PLEASANTON ORDAINS <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Grants a one-year extension to the RAP development <br /> approval of all those projects (or phases of projects) <br /> which would have lapsed on or before July 22, 1981, <br /> so that those with a lapse date of May 28, 1981 will <br /> now lapse on May 28, 1982, and those with a lapse date <br /> of July 22, 1981, will now lapse on July 22, 1982. <br /> <br />Section 2: This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen <br /> (15) days after its adoption in "THE TIMES," a newspaper <br /> of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 3: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days <br /> after the date of its final passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
