Mr. Pretzel stated that the camera was installed because of multiple violations of vandalism. shooting of
paintball guns toward his house and bb guns. He stated that the police did talk to him and told him that it is
within his rights to have a security camera.
The public hearing was closed.
Ms. Stern commented that she understood the situation between Mr. Baker and Mr. Pretzel, in that the two
neighbors worked together on the fence and tiled a joint application. She stated the ideal process is to have
a permit first before construction and that all parties in this room were guilty of not getting the permit first.
Ms. Stern stated she would like to find a solution to the visual impact to Ms. Fink.
Ms. Fink stated that at one time she thought about planting an apple tree in that area and that a tree may
solve the issue; however she would prefer not to have a tree in her yard.
Mr. Deike suggested a tree be planted in Mr. Baker's yard.
Mr. Baker stated he was willing to plant a tree in his yard.
Mr. Pretzel asked about the dirt underneath the fence.
Ms. Stern replied that he would have to work that out with his neighbor and that it was not a zoning issue.
Ms. Stern suggested Mr. Baker planting an apple tree in his yard.
Ms. Fink commented that she did not want Mr. Baker to do that and that a tree would lake too long to grow.
Ms. Fink stated it was ridiculous that the City did not judge the total fence length.
Ms. Stern mentioned that in this neighborhood is not uncommon to find a series of different property lines
along the back properties.
Mr. Pretzel stated that was the City's fault for allowing those different property lines.
Ms. Stern stated that it is just not always possible to have property lines line up exactly.
Ms. Fink commented that everyone should have six-foot fences.
Mr. Pretzel stated that Ms. Stern was misapplying the ordinance.
Ms. Stern asked Ms. Fink if she would like Mr. Baker to plant landscaping.
Ms. Fink replied that she did not care what he planted in his yard.
Mr. Baker stated that his plan was to replant landscaping along that fence after he finished construction.
Ms. Fink asked Mr. Baker if the plants would solve the problem than why not leave the fence at 6 feet.
Mr. Pretzel asked if the simple answer would be to cut the fence.
Ms. Stern replied that Mr. Pretzel and Mr. Baker jointly built that fence and Mr. Baker's expectation was
that it would stay there.
.Ninute.s.
