Planning Commission Hearing for P11-0664
Fence between 3642 Carlsbad Way and 3633 Glacier Court North
Interested Party Neighbor-Robert Baker 3647 Glacier Court North
Holder of an active Business License from the City of Pleasanton.
Holder of an active C61 California State Contractor's License for swimming pool service
and repair.
Owner of Amador Pool Service.
One of my services is Pool Inspections for real estate transactions.
Copy of recent Inspection Report in the city of Pleasanton.
Attention directed to highlighted paragraph on page 2. Safety:
Specific attention is given to the fencing and gates that surround the pool and allow
access to the pool.
In my professional opinion Mr. Deike's fence provides a safe and secure barrier for his
swimming pool.
I receive several trade publications in my business. There have been numerous sad stories
about small children that have found their way into a neighbor's pool and lost their lives.
I have watched the deterioration of the old fence over the years and have been very
concerned because of the pool safety issue.
I offer a picture that shows the old fence which is still in place with Mr. Deike's new
fence behind it.
The picture also shows Mr. Pretzel's attempt to repair a section of the old fence between
his property and Mrs. Fink's property at 3656 Carlsbad Way using the old materials.
In my opinion this repair would not be acceptable where a swimming pool would be
involved.
I would not like to see any modifications to Mr. Deike's fence that would make it no
longer a safe and secure barrier for his swimming pool.
