Attachment 3 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> CERTIFYING AND ADOPTING THE CITY'S CLIMATE ACTION PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is required under AB 32, the Global Warming <br /> Solutions Act of 2006, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020; and <br /> WHEREAS, in July 2010, City staff, in cooperation with the Committee on Energy and <br /> the Environment and assistance from Environmental Science Associates (ESA), the City's <br /> consultant, began developing a Climate Action Plan to address the issue of greenhouse gas <br /> (GHG) reduction; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is required under a Settlement Agreement and <br /> Covenant Not to Sue by the State of California and others, dated August 2010, to develop and <br /> adopt a Climate Action Plan by February 17, 2012, and prepare a Supplemental Environmental <br /> Impact Report; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has solicited community input and developed a <br /> comprehensive Climate Action Plan that meets the requirements of the Bay Area Air Quality <br /> Management District's CEQA Guidelines. <br /> WHEREAS, the Climate Action Plan provides a roadmap to achieving a more <br /> sustainable community. <br /> WHEREAS, a Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) was prepared for this <br /> project, and Resolution 12-493 certifying the SEIR as complete and adequate in compliance <br /> with the California Environmental Quality Act was adopted by the City Council on January 4, <br /> 2012. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The Climate Action Plan shall be qualified and adopted, as prepared. <br /> SECTION 2. The Climate Action Plan shall be incorporated by reference into the <br /> General Plan Amendment (attached). <br /> SECTION 3. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into <br /> the book of original resolutions. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a <br /> regular meeting held on February 7, 2012. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 7th day of February <br /> 2012, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: <br /> Noes: <br />
