CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALamEDA <br />STATE OF C~LIFC~NIA <br /> <br />RESOL~'££ON NO. 31J.6 <br /> <br />OPPOSING REZONING IN PLEASANTON T0~SHIP <br /> <br /> VF~L~EAS, the Alameda County Boar~ of Supervisors will~ , <br />on February 16~ 1961, consider the recommendation of the Ala~ed~ <br />County Pla~ing Commission to amend the County Zoning Ordinance <br />in order to change the permitted land use from agricul~.~ural to <br />light industrial of an area consisting of approximatel~ 678 acre~ <br />located southerly of U.S. Highway 50 and westerly of Hopyard <br />Road; and <br /> <br /> '~HEREAS~ said area proposed to be rezoned has been included <br />in the "Pleasanton Plannio~ Area" for the purpose of advisory <br />review by the City of Pleasanton relative to proposed zoning <br />changes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ploasanton is presently studying the <br />extension of its official General Plan to include said area <br />proposed to be rezened a~ has set an initial hearing date for <br />General Plan extension for March 2, 1961o <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLL0~: <br /> <br /> 1o The City of Pieasanton does hereby urge the Alameda Cc,~ <br />Board of Supervisors to deny the request to rezone said area~,~ <br />agricultural to light industrial~ <br /> <br /> 2o This request and recommendation is made for the follo~-;' · <br />reasons: <br /> <br /> a. The Alameda County Zoning Ordinance does not <br />time, contain performance standards relating to the emission of <br />smoke, noise, dus~, odor~ and glare which are necessary in <br />to insure reasonable industrial development which will be <br />with surrounding land uses° <br /> <br /> bo Due to the unique geographic and topographic <br />of the ~m~dor Valley, many problems exists particularly wi~h <br />to the area in question, in the fields of air pollution contro~ <br />flood control, and industrial waste discharge, wkfch have not~ <br />yet, been solved.
