CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> SLATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />URGING $.01 ADDITIONAL G~ TAX <br /> <br /> ~W~IER~IS, The California Legislature requires a State-wide <br />review of the deficiencies that exist on city streets and county <br />roads pursuant to Senate Concttrrent Resolution No. 62 adopted <br />in the 1959 regular session; and <br /> <br /> ~I~]~REAS, the findings of said report show that there are <br />many deficiencies on city streets and county roads, requiring <br />additional allocation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, new legislation should be enacted to provide such <br />funds for cities and counties; <br /> <br />NOW THER~OPJ~ BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> 1) The City Council does hereby recommend legislation be <br />enacted in 1961 to provide additional funds for allocations to <br />cmt~s and countzes to remedy road deficiencies. <br /> <br /> 2) That~ such additional funds amount to at least the equiv- <br />alent of $.01 in gas tax funds. <br /> <br /> 3) That such legislation provide the funds be equitably <br />allocated to cities and counties; that the present Highway Users <br />Tax Fund allocations to cities and counties be ~ntinued; that the <br />program be administered by local officials; and that new alloca- <br />tions be distributed as cities and counties may agree. <br /> <br /> 4] The City Clerk shall send copies of this resolution to <br />all interested agencies and parties. <br /> <br />ADOPTED: <br /> <br />February 27, 1961. <br /> <br />~Iayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />M~d~GnRE~ L.
