pL£ASANTONo <br />CITY COUNCIL - HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION <br />JOINT WORKSHOP AGENDA REPORT <br />January 24, 2012 <br />Community Services <br />TITLE: DISCUSSION OF EASTERN ALAMEDA COUNTY 2011 HUMAN <br />SERVICES NEEDS ASSESSMENT FINDINGS REPORT <br />SUMMARY <br />Pursuant to the City Council's direction, the City of Pleasanton partnered with the cities <br />of Dublin and Livermore to update the 2003 Tri- Valley Human Services Needs <br />Assessment. The cities have worked with its consultants Resource Development <br />Associates to assess the current and future conditions of the Tri - Valley region's Human <br />Services Delivery Network, identify service gaps, and provide recommendations to <br />strengthen delivery efforts and identify service priorities for federal and local grant <br />programs. City staff recently completed the Eastern Alameda County 2011 Human <br />Services Needs Assessment and wishes to present the Report to the City Council and <br />Human Services Commission for review and comment. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Review and discuss the Eastern Alameda County 2011 Human Services Needs <br />Assessment Findings Report and receive public input. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Funding allocated to update the Needs Assessment was approved at $65,000; <br />however, an additional $3,810 was allocated to the project for extended report review, <br />community input and the joint workshop with the City Council and Human Services <br />Commission. The cost was shared between the cities of Pleasanton and Livermore in <br />the amount of $35,080 (Pleasanton) and $33,730 (Livermore). <br />
